PitRok Deodorant Wipes "highly recommended" for Runners

"Made of organic cotton these wipes are guaranteed not to have been tested on animals. Refreshing, with good deodorising capacity."
Of the back of this editorial feature we had an influx of enquiries about the product, including a running coach called Sarah who was keen to put the product to the test. I sent her a complimentary pack to test out on the basis that she would write back to me with a review of the product. Here is what she thought:
"I used the PitRok deodorant wipes after a race of over 20 miles last weekend, as there were no shower facilities and I had a long drive home. They were effective, easy to use, and did a great job of freshening me up! I also like the smell of them. Would recommend highly."

4/5 Review for PitRok Shampoo & Conditioner

"Seaweed extract - moisturises and nourishes. Rich in minerals to add texture and shine to hair. Dead Sea Salt - improves hair condition. After using PitRok Sea Mineral Shampoo, smooth conditioner through hair and leave for a few minutes before washing out. If your hair is dry or damaged apply a little conditioner to the ends before drying".
Shampoo
I've not had much luck finding a natural shampoo that works well. They're based on natural oils rather than propylene glycol and are free from artificial foamers - as a result, most do not lather well and have a heavy texture. This makes it harder to work into your hair, therefore harder to reach greasy patches and remove dirt which leaves your hair feeling unclean - especially after a few weeks of using it. So I was pleasantly suprised when I tried this one. It had a light, gel like texture that was really easy to work into my hair. It foamed up beautifully with water and left my hair feeling cleansed rather than stripped.
Conditioner
Like the shampoo, the conditioner had a very light texture. It was a little too light for my curls and I felt the conditioner needed a little more weight to tame my locks. I left it in for around 5 minutes which made my hair feel a bit more moisturised. Having said that, it's the only small niggle I have about this product.
As with the shampoo, the conditioner washed out very easily leaving no traces of product buildup even after using it for 4 weeks! So this would be a fantastic product if you have greasy hair prone to product build up.
Even though both of these products are fragrance free my hair still smelt clean a couple of days after I'd washed it - something I was not expecting when using a fragrance free product. So I've come to the conclusion that most shampoos don't make your hair smell clean, we just think it smells clean because it's perfumed.
The great thing about fragrance free products is you can customise them - a certain smell or for the properties of the essential oils themselves. These shampoos and conditioners didn't have that 'base' smell that many fragrance free products have, which can taint what you add to it. Put a few drops of essential oil into the bottle (if doing this, bear in mind essential oil dilution), gave it a good shake and it's ready to use.
Overall a great product that's perfect for greasy hair or those looking for a light, bubbly shampoo. My hair was left soft, shiney and chemical free!

Looking after the skin you're both in
Women become more aware of the chemical ingredients used in a lot of beauty products and rightfully become concerned about the effect these could have on their unborn baby.
A survey we conducted found that the majority of women changed their moisturiser (80%), body wash (35%), deodorant (15%), shampoo and conditioner (5%) during pregnancy.
Questionable chemical ingredients were the main concern for mummies to be, with 85% deciding to change their regular beauty and skin purchases. With a heightened sense of smell during pregnancy, many women had gone off the scent of their usual products and preferred to use fragrance free.
Before pregnancy, 33% were mostly swayed by price, but once these women had a baby to protect, cost dropped off the radar as an influencing factor.
New mums become keen on products that offer increased moisturisation (50%) and unsurprisingly skincare treatments that reduce the visible signs of stretch marks (85%).

PitRok Sea Mineral Conditioner 4.5 star rating

The ingredients sound wonderful too, coconut oil, jojoba oil, olive fruit oil, sunflower seed oil and shea.In a way its a shame it is fragrance free as i'm sure it could smell wonderful. For those that need fragrance free i'm sure it is a godsend!
It does seem rather strange using a product with no scent as i am used to my hair smelling nice. The conditioner isn't as thick as i am used to.
All this said, the product went on well and i left it on for a couple of minutes as suggested. It washed out easily and i could get a comb straight through my wet hair.No tangles!
I dried my hair with a hairdryer and my hair felt lovely and soft.My scalp didn't feel irritated and apart from the lack of scent it really did the trick.I have used this a few times now and doesn't seem to cause build up on the hair either."

Anderra - Product Reviews - PitRok Push-up Crystal Deodorant

I had seen these sticks around and if I am honest was slightly skeptical. But after having a reaction to deodorant, I decided to give Pitrok's crystal deodorant a go as it contains no aluminium or other pore blocking ingredients. Then I stumbled across Jorge Gacia's (Hurley from Lost) blog where he was saying how well it worked. So I figured if it keeps whiff at bay on a tropical island, it will work here in England! :)
I've tried a few other natural deodorants and found them to be effective for a short while but after a while I get a little smelly. However, I have been massivly impressed with this product. I really didn't expect it to work so well. You rub the stone under your arms after you have showered and your underarms are still wet. Rubbing this on my underarm felt quite strange as I was literally rubbing a smooth stone on my arm pit - it doesn't smell of anything and I couldn't see anything. You can also apply this stone after you have shaved your underarms and there is no stinging.
The main thing to bear in mind with this product is that it's a deodorant not an antiperspirant - it will stop odour forming but will not stop you sweating. I had been wearing it all day, cycled to my local supermarket, cycled back with a backpack full of food and cooked dinner in a warm kitchen and no smell! So I have no hesitations in recommending this product.
